Bank of England

If there’s one thing I’ve learned with this culture it’s this, if you have an idea, and the means to do it there and then, do it. Worry about whether it was a good or bad idea later. The act of “doing” is often enough, regardless of the results. I was about to put the bins out when I logged on and news of the incompetent Tories crashing the pound was everywhere. I hit the £ sign, printed, cut out and sprayed this A4 stencil on the neighbours bin before I’d had the chance to give it a second thought. I read a research paper some time ago that it’s the act of “making art” , regardless of the quality, that has the power to change and improve the plasticity of the brain, not the act of passively looking, there’s more benefit neurologically, for your mental health, in making a bad stencil, than there is standing in front of a Caravaggio. Our art institutions shoud be huge laboratories of play and creativity, instead of mausoleums of culture dedicated to wealthy patrons trinkets.
